Help with coil balance in Kinco Window

Handy Person from Mount Pleasant, SC

Hi. House was built in 2005 and has original Kinco windows. One window has faulty coil mechanism on one side. Attached are pics of the label and the 'mess' on that one side. Also a pic of a good plastic coil mechanism from the opposite side that seems to be fine.

I am not sure what to do. I can remove the bottom pane. Should I do that and remove the coils and plastic piece and start over? What coil mechanism would you recommend as a replacement? I can't seem to find a helpful video on line.

Thanks!

Hello,

I believe that we can help but we can't be sure of what you need with the coil balance still installed. I would recommend removing your original hardware to compare to the 15-087 housing pivot, which uses the S180 coil springs, and other related items found on our product pages. Take a look at these parts and the related videos shown on this page to help you through the process. Thank you.
