Help with crank

Home Owner from USA

Thank you for your email. I've attached several pictures of the jalousie crank. The before and after pictures of the assembly with and without the handle. I've also included pictures of the universal T crank window handle that I bought to replace the broken one . By looking at the pictures would you be able to tell if the replacement is the correct one? After looking at the crank assembly I didn't think it would work. The original crank handle doesn't have a screw, it is riveted in place.

Thank you for your help

Hi Louise,

The worm gear from your Jalousie operator has become completely stripped. That piece should never be removed from the operator along with the handle. When this happens the entire mechanism needs to be replaced.

That said, our 39-165K Jalousie Window Operator Kit should work for your repairs. You'll be able to snap the arm down to the length required for your window. Take a look at the video tutorial tagged below for reference.
