Hi,
1) I need to know if SIMONTON F0417LEAR is like a serial number that will help identify parts and part numbers?
2) What is the name of the thin metal band/part that seems to run along the inside track of the sash. It's too cold to chance removing sash and risk not getting it back in to find any part number, it seems twisted, I HAVE four windows that won't operate.

Hello! To start, we wouldn't be able to use a serial number from another company. You may be describing a sash support balance, but without seeing it, I honestly have no way of telling. You would, in fact, need to remove the sash and take photos of the parts you're looking for.
As for your third request, an illustration, we wouldn't have any illustrations available for windows from another company, but if you have any specific questions, we are happy to answer them.
