Help with probable CertainTeed latch #26-317

Question

I have a window which looks like it probably has the CertainTeed latch 26-317.
Externally, it looks like this is probably what it is, but I can't figure out how to remove it. I assume it is supposed to be unscrewed and pushed out the side edge of the window, but there is no apparent screw, and it resists being pushed out.

The top sliding latch looks identical to that of the 26-317, with two underside pins. On the underside of the slides, the following codes are imprinted:
8614X
12.
ALso, how does one put the slides back on after they have popped off??

In some versions of these Certainteed tilt latches, you can simply pop the old ones out by using a flathead screwdriver and gently tapping with a hammer. However, on some versions, such as with Bryn Mawr windows, the latches are installed under a strip of vinyl that runs completely along the top of the sash. You need to unscrew the lock and take off the thumb buttons, tilt the window in and slide the strip off either side to access the latches.
