Help with sash Window parts

A home owner from Boise, ID says:
Very glad to have found your website and I hope you can help me. Attached, please find three photos of the kind of channel balances found in the windows of my home.

The metal support is exactly 27 inches long (excluding the plastic hardware) and hopefully you can see enough detail in the ends to identify what I have.

I think I'll need several of these. The only thing that happened is that the cord snapped so there's no spring assist anymore. I am assuming that you advise home owners to replace the whole part rather than try to "re-string" that little pulley. Is that true?

Anyway, thank you so much for your help. Please let me know if you need any other info!

Hi, Tom.

We're glad you found us too! You are correct. The pulley system itself can't be replaced or repaired so you'll need an all new balance. We also always advise replacing your balances in pairs. If you were to pair a new balance with an old one, the new one would wear out faster since it has to pick up the slack for its older counterpart.

You have either our S380-27 or S385-27, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. Our Series 380 has a 1" deep shoe while the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" deep shoe. Take a look at the image below to determine which one you'll need. You will also need the 2640 spring strength option, based on your 2640 stamp.

Let me know if you have any questions!
