Help with window parts - balancer?

Home Owner from Columbia, MD
Hello - I have a window that wouldnt stay open and would shut like a guillotine. I tried to fix it but now I'm at a standstill since I am not sure what these parts are called. Any idea on what parts I might need or the name of the parts? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide to me!

Hi Marcus,

Thanks for reaching out to us! The part you have here is referred to as a channel balance. Yours can be replaced with the S770-30 Balance. Although, this will need to be a custom assembly given the rivet at the top of the balance. The clip attached to the rivet can be replaced with either the 19-029 short or 19-030 long s-clips (sold separately from the balance).

I'm happy to provide you with an order link for the balances but I'll need to know the exact number you intend to purchase; there is quantity minimum of (2) balances.

Also, there is a part called a pivot shoe that is likely to be left behind in the window channel. This is the part the bottom attachment on the balance (the terminal clip) attaches to. It would be a good idea to check and see if they might need to be replaced as well.

Be sure to take a look at the video tutorials tagged below as a reference for repairing the window.
