High chair tray attachment

I built this high chair out of maple when I was in high school wood shop in 1981. My children used it and now I would like my grandchildren to use it. Unfortunately the tray plungers have broken. I have included pictures of the part and try both both and side attachment arm. If there was a part that could be metal or plastic that would work that would be fantastic! Please help... thank you so much!
