Can your 82-086 lock box be turned the other way?

Thanks for writing in. It's possible you may be able to simply invert this handle set, but I'd like to be certain we know what you're dealing with. Can we see pictures of your existing handle set? Many thanks.

Thanks for the photos! I see what you're talking about now. Yes, the 82-086 handle can be flipped to whatever orientation you have. If you flip the handle so that the lever is on top, but the handle is facing the wrong direction, you can always unscrew the handle and flip that around to where it needs to be. 

Oh, I see. I apologize for not noticing this detail at first. Looking at your photos, it appears that the thumb lever on your original handle set is centered. The thumb lever on the 82-086 is only offset and cannot be adjusted. Unfortunately, that means that the 82-086 cannot work for you. No amount of turning will fix that. Sorry again for the confusion, I was focusing on the white handle in your images, which I thought was your original. I now see that that's the replacement that you purchased.

Your best bet is to return the 82-086 for a refund. I would then recommend something like our 82-079, which has an adjustable thumb lever that can work for the top, middle, or bottom position as needed. The 82-079 doesn't come with a key lock so you'll also need to purchase an 82-315 key lock separately.
