Hook latch on Silver Line sliding patio door

The pictured hook latch on a Silver Line sliding patio door, V1, is defective. It only works sporadically, at times the hook retracts into the housing preventing the door from closing or locking. The only marking on the latch is a "V" stamped on the housing just opposite the hook. The door handles and actuating lever are OK and don't need replacing.
