Hello I purchased the 39-037 to replace old vinyl awning windows operators that are rusted...Although this part looks exactly like the old one it seems impossible to be able to remove the old one after removing the 4 screws. It seems as if there between the scutcheon and the screws (sash?) perhaps not wide enough. Need help please!
How do I remove old operator to replace with 39-037

In my experience, you may need to remove the old wood sill trim in order to replace this operator. Try that and see if that allows you to remove it from the window.

The window is vinyl on top of granite no wood trim or sill

Look at the related videos on replacing operators on windows to see if any of these help you. You might have an operator with a smaller base, which means you'll have to open up the cut out where the operator is mounted to the window. If you don't think that will work, see if you can send us some photos of your window showing the operator.
