How do we remove

Question

Hi there, In the photo attached, the dead bolt is stuck in the locked position. We've taken off the handle but can't seem to get this apart to try to fix it. Any tips on getting this dead bolt to retract? Both the thumb turner and key aren't working.

Thanks for contacting Swiso.com! Although, I am sorry to hear of the issue you are experiencing with your mortise lock. I do believe we may be able to assist you with getting it unlocked, but it will not be an easy process, unfortunately.

When you removed the handles in the door, did you attempt to manually throw the lock with a screwdriver? If so, and it did not work, you'll need to cut the mortise lock out of the door. In the event that it does come to this, we strongly advice contacting a professional to come out and do that for you.
