Removing the old 26-362 vent latch

I have ordered a few of these and need to replace this vent latch on an existing window...What is the best was to get the old one out..

The way the manufacturer designed these, the 26-362 is not technically made to come out. That means that if you need to replace it, you'll have to break the original in order to remove it from the window. 

One of the best ways to do this is to slide a putty knife under the lip of the vent lock and force it out from the sash. Just make sure that you don't damage the frame itself on accident. You want to be firm, but deliberate.
