How do you remove a Concealed Latch Knob Assembly?

The only safe way to get this latch apart is to use a drill. There is a spring clip in the center of the female portion of the knob which must be drilled out. The female half of the knob is the half that you would grab and turn. Use a center punch and mark the center of the female knob. Drill a hole deep enough to drill out the spring clip (you will feel it when the clip breaks). A 1/4" drill bit should work well (you may need to drill a pilot hole first with a smaller drill bit). Once the spring clip has been drilled through, the knob will come apart. Do not try to pry off the knob with a screwdriver, as this will damage the door. You may also want to tape cardboard to the door around the latch so if the drill slips, the bit will not hit the door and scratch it.
