How do you remove the 26-317?

Home Owner from Pennsylvania
I recently found and purchased replacement Certainteed snap in tilt latches for several top windows that have broken ones. I was able to get one of the old ones out, but broke it in the process. Can you advise HOW to properly remove them and do the new ones just snap in? Mine are the same as Quick Learner's from bayport NY above. They have the 2 "pinch" like snaps underneath. Windows were installed in 1998.

Hello,

In some versions of these Certainteed tilt latches, you can simply pop the old ones out by using a flathead screwdriver and gently tapping with a hammer. However, on some versions, the latches are installed under a strip of vinyl that runs completely along the top of the sash. You need to unscrew the lock and take off the thumb buttons, tilt the window in and slide the strip off either side to access the latches.

As long as the dimensions below match the original latches, you would just need to reverse the removal process to snap the new latches in place.
