want to replace the door handle with one that locks from the exterior but need to figure out how to remove the screw covers

Thanks for writing in! Your sliding door handle can be replaced with the 82-030 Sliding Patio Door Handle Set. The installation hole placement should be the same distance on yours.

You'll need to use something with a flattened end, like a slotted screwdriver (flathead), to wedge under the cover and pop it out.
