How to determine length of missing balance

A quick learner from San Diego says:
I need to buy new channel balances for a window, but both of the old ones are gone. I looked at the balances on the other windows in the house and they are Series 385. I weighed the sash and it is 16 lbs. Trying to figure out the length and model # I need to order. I measured the sash height and it is 20.5" tall. Is this enough to go off to find the correct replacement?

Thanks!

Thanks for posting. I think we can help you find the right length. Rather than the total height of the sash, can you instead give me the height of the visible glass? We find that to be a better gauge of what size balance you need. Thanks!
A quick learner from San Diego says:
Thanks, Tom. The visible glass is 17" tall.

Hello! For 17" tall glass, I recommend our S385-19 channel balance. I would also recommend the 1840 stamp option for your 16 pound sash.
