How to measure the sash for channel balance length

Quick Learner from Brooklyn NY
Hi, just moved into a new place and it have a large window in the kitchen that is missing both channel balances, so I have no way of know what the replacement parts specs are.

Will like to know how do I measure the sash to find the length of channel balance I need. Where do I start and finish? Measure the whole sash or just the glass part?

Without the original balances to use as reference, it will be very hard to know what you need. Do you have other windows in the house made by the same manufacturer? If so, I'd like you to remove one of those balances and show us a clear picture of their top and bottom. That will allow us to determine the Series.

As for size, give us the height of the visible glass. I will also need the exact weight of the sash, down to the ounce. Finally, show us a couple pictures of the sash these balances support and let me know what it's made of.
