How to remove my old operator cover

I've recently purchased one 39-239B : Encore Awning Operator, Sill Mount. I'm trying to remove the original white cover. Is the cover supposed to come off of the original Truth Model 41013? The date code on the original is 08/04/00.
If the original cover cannot be reused is the correct replacement part 39-451?

The cover is a permanent fixture on many older operators, which appears to be the case here. You won't be able to remove and reuse it. Fortunately, the 39-451 will work perfectly fine for your application.
