Can you send us a quick photo of the molding in question and I will show it to our window expert here. I want to make sure it is clear exactly what you are trying to achieve.

This is a 1994 casement, what is the best way to remove molding?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
You can pry up the sill using a prybar like our 75-081--just be careful, as it's held on with nails and you don't want to crack the wood. This will expose the screws from the base of the operator.
