How to replace 39-281 shoe

Hello. I have this same style of window with the same Andersen operator. Is there an easy way to replace the 39-281 shoe on the operator?

Hello,

To replace the 39-281, you'd need to drill out the old rivet, then find a small solid piece of metal--or something hard--that is about 1" thick to lay the operator arm on.

Then, assemble the nylon bracket and rivet to the arm and place the assembly on a metal block. Next, you'll hammer the rivet to start spreading it, which will hold it in place. Thanks for posting!
