How to replace a 23 1/2 " S 900 balance

Hi there,
I am about to replace the spiral balance in several windows. The problem I have now is that the measure of the original spiral is 23 inches and a half. What do you suggest? I should go with the shorter (23") or the longer (24").

Good morning! You should be okay with the S900-24. They used to make spiral balances in lengths that ended at 1/2" once upon a time, but that style of manufacturing has fallen out of practice. Most companies end their lengths on the inch now.
