Hurricane Proof Sliding Glass Door Handle: NEED REPLACEMENT PLEASE
-Impact-resistant sliding glass door 8' high by 4.5' wide on a condo in Florida built approx 2009
-Handle has the word "DISCO" at the bottom, door side of the handle
-Hanle is approx 8.5" Long x 1" Wide
-Handle holes that connect the handle to the door are approximately 2.5", each, from the top and bottom of the handle. Locking mechanism is 3.5" from the bottom of the handle
-Handle is made of a heavy-duty material ( some sort of metal)
Any ideas of where we can purchase a replacement part for the handle?
Please see attached pictures, thank you, Moya
Hi Moya,
Thanks for writing in! Your patio door handle looks like it could be replaced with the 82-089 Legacy Handle Set. The keyed version is the 82-086. Both are made with an offset latch.
The handle has breaking off the door, may likely be due to excessive force. That said, I suggest checking the rollers for any damage or debris. You may also want to check the track as well. If there is any issue with them, replacing the handles may only be a temporary fix.
I've tagged video tutorials below with instructions for removing/installing them and what we'd need to see to identify the replacements.
