Thanks for posting. Is there any particular reason you think your balances should be calibrated for a heavier sash weight? Did you ever have trouble opening the balances or keeping them open prior to the windows failing? If not, then I think the calibration of 31-61, which indicates your 31-1/2" balances are tensioned to support a 61 pound window, are accurate. If you're uncertain weigh the sash to confirm its exact weight and let me know.
