I've never been able to successfully use a Series 600 to replace a hybrid balance. Hybrids are very heavy duty and, more importantly, their springs are calibrated in a very specific way. Whereas Series 600 springs are calibrated to hold a range of weights (say, 31 through 40 pounds), the hybrid balance is calibrated to hold only one weight and one weight alone. In your case, that weight is 45 pounds and exceeds the maximum capacity of the Black Tip S600-32. It would be too weak.

Even if the S600-32 could carry 45 pounds, I still wouldn't use it. The way they're designed to work is just too different. We always recommend just sticking with the original hardware as a matter of policy.
