I dropped the mortise lock inside the door, how do I get it out?

I need to know how to get the lock out of the door

Unfortunately, you might not be able to. You will need to remove the door from the track. If it's a vinyl patio door and the bottom rail is hollow, you might be able to get it out by removing the bottom roller from the door, but that is not guaranteed for all doors.

Put a screw through the top hole for the handle. Turn the door upside down. The lock should stop when it hits the screw.
