Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! I am confident we can provide you with a replacement recommendation for the balance you have. However, to narrow down the exact replacement, I'll need to see a clearer photo of the bracket in the center of the balance. Unfortunately, I am not able to make out the exact design of the bracket, even with the photo zoomed in.

Your shoe depth looks like it could be 1-3/32" but it is hard to tell from the photo of the measuring tape if it is over 1". Would you be able to double check and confirm this? Please write the measurement out.

Sorry about that these look a little clearer let me know if you need any more thanks

Hi,

The photos are still too far out to make out the shape of the bracket. I no longer need to see the attachments on the balance so it is okay if they aren't in the photo. I am only looking to see the bracket.

Yes the depth of the bottom shoe is 1 in and 3/32".

These photos do not include the bracket from the center of the balance, they are the balance attachments.

I need to see the bracket at the middle of the balance of the balance, connected to the bottom of the spring. This is important to see for recommending the correct balances. That is the last piece of information I need to move forward.

Well if only I could send more than five pictures you would have it I believe. Why don't you send me a picture of a channel balance that includes the part that you need so maybe I could just send you one more picture

You would only need to include the one photo of the center of the balance. As explained, this is the part of the pulley system where the spring and the string meet, in the middle of the balance. Your balance just happens to be missing the string. However, the bracket is still attached to the bottom of the spring.

In the photos you've sent of the entire balance, I am able to see that the bracket is still attached to the spring. Unfortunately, when I zoom in the photo becomes blurry.

That is the only photo I will need to see to be able to identify the balances you need to complete your repairs.

I forget that when you upload photos it changes the resolution so I'm sitting here looking at the photo thinking I can zoom in just fine. As is probably the case with this photo attached if it's still too blurry let me know and I'll get a closer shot

Thanks for the photo. Your balance can be replaced with either the S380-31 or the S385-31. You'll need to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe to confirm which of these is the best fit.

You can select the 3040 stamp option.

Thanks Jasmine sorry about all the confusion. Do they make this in a 16-in version and would it just be called S385-17. I have no pictures of this one

These balances are made in a 16" length however, I would not be able to confirm exactly what you need using the information provided. The length of the balance is determine based on the length of the metal channel. The stamp from the balance indicates the weight range a balance should be able to hold to support the sash weight.

If you do not have the original balances to use to determine the correct replacement, I'll be able to determine the replacement but I'll need know the height of the visible glass pane in the window; only the glass you can see. I will also need to know the exact weight of the sash.

Feel free to reach out with any other questions.
