I need a new surface mount patio door handle and strike plate for a door. Numbers I see are SGD-r20 SGD-c20

Handy Person from Stow Ohio 44224
Need to replace a patio door handle on a slider at my mother in laws condo. The latch won't work anymore. Someone has continually slammed it to shut and the hook is bent and will not line up and catch to lock. The only identification I have is on the door SGD-r20 /c20 I am not there right now so I don't have the measurements for the drilled holes but can get them. When I searched these numbers your site came up. Do you carry this / these parts? Looking forward to hearing from you

Thanks for contacting us! I'm glad you found us, because we can help. Now, your exact handle set is no longer made, but our 82-036 should work well as a substitute. Look it over and let me know what you think.

I have the same exact doors and would like to replace with a lockable handles set. It there one still made? Are there other lock models that are compatible with additional installtion work? Thanks so much! Eric

The 82-036 did have an exterior keyed option at one point, but it was discontinued in late 2015 and to my knowledge no alternative was ever made. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I have this exact model of door, as well. Mine is very drafty and found that the seal in between the stationary and sliding frames is open to outside air on the top. I'm guessing there is a seal or foam that is missing. Is there a seal kit for this still available that might include this? Please excuse the dirty track. This is a picture from outside, viewing above the stationary panel.

Thanks,

Hello, David. I'm sorry to say that we don't sell seal kits like you're looking for. These usually have to be replaced on a case-by-case basis, usually by referencing the size of the original wool pile. We carry a wide selection of pile, which you can see here, but in order to determine if any of our products will work you will have to remove a small sample of the original so that you can measure it.
