I need replacement Pivot shoes
I need replacement Pivot shoes for my windows. My tilt-out windows measures 35"x48"
The coiled balance spring has "409" etched on it. I believe I need CertainTeed Pivot Shoe Product Code: 15-192. Would you please confirm or provide me with the correct Product Code?
Thank you for your time.
Tom
Hello, Tom! I agree, our 15-192 is probably going to be your best modern option. Just note that the 15-192 is a newer Certainteed model, so using it to repair older windows requires a couple extra steps. It may not work as-is.
The most common issue is that the aligner "bumps" on the face of the shoe tend to stick out too far for this shoe to fit in older window channels. You would need to cut them off with a utility knife (make sure to wear safety gloves!).
It also looks like your metal cam has some bumps on the interior channel, which tells me that your window uses a specific kind of pivot bar that won't fit in our 15-192 cam. With that in mind, you'll have to reuse the old ones. Fortunately they can pop in and out so that shouldn't be an issue.
