We have a small awning window that uses an Encore Narrow Awning Operator (39-433 or possibly the 39-433C). With the window closed, the window is vertical, and the he stud on the horizontal jointed arm operator fits into the center hole in the black plastic Awning Operator Bracket. The issue starts as the window crank is turned and the window starts to open as the bottom of the window moves away from the house. All is fine for a little while, but what is happening is tas the elongate, the jointed arms remain horizontal and the little stud remaining vertical; at the same time, the hole in the center of the bracket starts to move in an arc trajectory, and at some point, it is at too much of an angle that the stud pops out.
I don;t know if there is a piece missing to hold the stud in the bracket, that there is something that stops the arm from extending to the point the stud pops out, or if this windows was installed completely incorrectly.
I hope I have explained the issue well enough.

The issue begins as the window crank is turned and the window starts to open. The top of the window is fixed in a hinge and the bottom of the window begins moving away from the house, causing the window to no longer be vertical (and the bottom of the window to no longer be horizontal).
All is fine until the window is open about halfway. What is happening is that as the jointed arms elongate, they remain horizontal with the attached little stud remaining vertical. Meanwhile, the attached Awning Operator Bracket (which was horizontal with the stud on the jointed arm perfectly fitting into the hole in the bracket) starts to move in an arc trajectory as the window opens, moving from vertical to an angle, and more importantly the bottom of the window moves from horizontal also to an angle which and at some point, it is at too much of an angle for the stud to remain in the hole and the stud pops out. But when one looks at the two holes where the bracket had been screwed into the window, one understands that the hole in the bracket would no longer be in a position to hold the stud, and therefore, the stud pops out when the window is open! I don't know if there is a piece missing like a cotter-pin to lock the stud into the bracket hole, if there is something that should be preventing the arm from extending and opening the window more than about halfway at which point the stud pops out, or if this window and mechanism was installed completely incorrectly from the start.
The window was installed about six years ago since the remodel of this cottage began. After 5 different contractors (!!), it is finally done, and this week when opening this window, we have discovered this issue with the small awning window in the bathroom. We are about to rent the cottage, and would like to solve this issue asap.
I hope I have explained the issue adequately and you have the solution for us. I thank you in advance!
PS I did submit to your website with the online form, but noticed it said if this was time sensitive, I could send an email. Hopefully with the additional photos, and the more detailed explanation, you might be able to help me and my Awning Window issue!

This is a strange situation but It's possible that the original operator and bracket may not have been the correct hardware for your window. We can't make any guarantees since this is not what was shown in your original photos but take a look at the 39-239B, along with the 39-536 pivot shoe and 39-556 track. Review the specifications below and on our product pages to determine if this may be a better replacement option for your window.
