I need to replace the broken balance. Can you please recommend the appropriate new part?
Gentlemen,
I am looking to replace the window block & tackle sash balance
I am enclosing some pictures, plus the label found on the frame.
The length is 33 inches, the width is 1/2 ". it has seven wholes, the
marking on the U shaped tube says: 32 TG meanning i need the 32 TH model?Based on the shoe picture i think that is the model i need The one think i do not undertan dis that i do not see the spring
.The label in my photo is an NFRC (National Fenestration Rating
> Council) certification label, which is used on energy-efficient
> Windows. The key parts of this label are:
> • Manufacturer Code: H-LC30-46x80
> • Product Certification Number (PCN): UM 111
> • Certifying Body: Associated Laboratories Inc.
> • Date Code: 04-14 (April 2014)
> • Compliance: HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development)Please advise.Thanks,Jacob
Thanks for reaching out to us. I think we can supply this balance, but it may need to be a custom order. Before we go any further, can you tell me how many of these you wanted to buy? In the meantime, we will research the availability of this older model.
Hello,
At this point, I need only one.
Also, I have a question: when I open the window, the Window stays open. Is it because I have two balances? So, do I need to replace the broken one? Why do you think it could be a custom order? Thanks, Jacob
Thanks for your patience while we investigated this assembly. I have learned that we can supply this balance, but only as a custom order due to its unique configuration.
To be transparent, your exact balance isn't made anymore, but the custom assembly I'm proposing has been used by customers with your window in the past. What we'll do is use our S751-33 ribbed channel balance but with the bottom knife lock shoe swapped out for our special 15-233. We'll also be using a 32TG stamp option, which carries sashes weighing 29 through 36 pounds.
This balance will not come with the top metal clip that's used for installation, but you can reuse your original without issue. If that's not possible, I'd suggest our 19-030 (sold separately).
Please note that this balance was not made to work on your window, and we've never personally tried it. We're basing this recommendation off of the successful reports of past customers who have tried it. Custom balances are non-refundable, too, so I want to make sure that we're on the same page before you buy anything.
One last note: we can only supply 2 custom balances at minimum, not 1. I hope that's okay. We usually recommend replacing both at the same time anyway. You never want to mix old and new balances. I'll take the liberty of emailing you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add 2 of these custom assemblies to your cart. Please review the hardware I mentioned in this thread before you buy anything just in case you had any questions. I'm happy to address any concerns you might have.
