I purchased the wrong one part 83-040 cause they look alike

Question

Part uses only 3 screws. 2 screws for the outdoor half and 1 screw to join both halves together.
The indoor half of the handle with 2 tabs to help set it into place is the female side that the 1 screw goes into that screws both halves together. It has a recessed lip to brace against the screen door frame.
The other half that goes on the outside of screen door has a flat mating surface that makes contact with the screen door itself. No recessed lip to brace the frame.

Sorry to hear the 83-040 did not work out for you. See our Return Policy here. Looking at your photos I believe you might have a type of handle that unfortunately is no longer available. Take a look at the 83-002B screen door handle instead. Review the dimensions to see if this might fit your door.
