I think I need two or more 33" 385s

Unsure of the window weight. Double pane vinyl 30 x 29. I think I need the larger bottom fittings (15-004?) because there already is all kinds of play in my other installed windows (way too much I think). Thanks for your help! -Matt

Hey Matt. Measure the depth of the bottom nylon shoe as shown below. If it's 1-3/32", then you do have the Series 385. If it's a 33" long metal channel, not including the nylon attachments at both ends, then it's the S385-33. Finally, look for a stamp code on the balance. The stamp code indicates the weight range the balance can support. If there is none, weigh the window sash on a bathroom scale. You can use that exact weight to choose the right stamp option.

Unfortunately I see no stamps and only a worn print on one which appears to read "3##6? JR CALDWELL". The metal channel alone is 33" and the base of the shoe measures 1 1/8" so probably 1 3/32".

A side note that both channel balances are so tall in the frame that the sash tops out before the it can raise far enough past the take-out clips. I doubt you can do anything about this but that is the case. Any tips are recommended. Thanks again!

That code is definitely the stamp we need. It's unfortunately that it's so worn though. I can't make it out either.

Is the stamp on the other balance in better condition? If not, your only other option is to weigh the sash. We show a weight chart on the S385-33 store page that tells you exactly how much weight each stamp option supports, so you would juts cross-reference your sash weight with that chart and pick accordingly.

As for the balances being too tall to remove, I don't think I've ever seen that before. I'm honestly not sure I understand what you're describing; both balances should be nested fully in the sash. Can you clarify what you're describing? Photos may also help.
