Unfortunately, the 82-036 handle set will not work on your door. Your door is designed to only work with one type of handle set, which is the type you have now. Because this handle set leaves a huge rectangular hole in the frame when it's removed, pretty much nothing can be used as a substitute.

To compound that, the kind of handle set your door is designed to work with is not meant to use an outside pull. I know that's not ideal, but that's how these doors are designed. The manufacturer's idea was that an outside pull would interfere with the operation of a screen door.

You could possibly use something like our 88-001, but you'd have to drill  holes above or below the existing handle set and mount it directly to the frame. It would not mount on the old handle itself. If you decide to go this route, be very careful when drilling in the door not to hit the glass.

I'm sorry that we cannot offer a better option.

Since the lock is broken I need to replace the handle even if I cannot have a pull handle on both sides. Can you please tell me what you have that will fit my door. I will consider the additional puul you suggested but for now its a lock issue and needs the main handle replaced.

Certainly! In the case of your door, I recommend our 82-002WK. I feel pretty confident that this is what you want, but look over our photos and dimensions just to be 100% sure.
