Also note that this kind of damage usually only occurs when the rollers are hanging up. Patio glass doors should open with just a gentle touch; if you have to yank on it, that means the rollers need to be cleaned, lubricated, or replaced.

Just something to keep in mind as you move forward. If you don't address the rollers soon, your new handle will likely end up like the old one sooner than later.
