Identification of window parts

I was having trouble getting a window open. They had painted the exterior and many of them are painted shut. I am going to attach three pictures from a window. I was able to get open. I don't know if the symbol a means Anderson window or something else on the first photo. The hand crank measures 4 inches and the lock lever measures 5 inches. The grooved gear that the handle rests on appears to be 5/16 of an inch.
