Older Larson exterior storm window has a vertical piece inserted into the middle track where the window slides up and down. It is used to catch the latch on the bottom window. I'm trying to find the name of the part in order to install one in a different storm window where the notch in the frame has worn and is not holding up the window.
Note: The top window drops down during bad storms. The latch spring works and the latch looks intact. I think it's because the notch on the frame is worn down. Do you have any suggestions how I can work around a worn out notch without replacing the frame?
Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out to us. We unfortunately don't sell the kind of track you're looking for. I honestly don't know who might have this, other than the window manufacturer themselves.
As for making your own notch, what I've done in the past in this kind of situation was to use a small sharp chisel, or a sharpened flat blade screwdriver, and tap it with a hammer to make the notch deeper in the frame. Make sure you get the location correct for the notch. Just be careful and keep a steady grip, since there's a risk that you'll do more damage than you started out with.
