Home Owner from Tina
I am trying to replace a window shoe but can't do cut out method it is metal, need help with a cheap alternative to jam spreader. Also need new foots for the windows and identifying which ones I need. The one broke off inside and can't get out, but while trying it got pushed in and seems to be out of the way for the new one. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-135, which is sometimes used with the 26-021 pivot bar. Please keep in mind that these are just educated guesses based on what is shown in your photos and you will need to remove undamaged versions of both parts to compare to the specifications shown on our product pages.

As for removing the pivot shoe, unfortunately, the cutout method shown in our video below and the 75-069 jamb spreaders are our only methods for removing the balance hardware. If the jamb does not have a cutout already and you don't think that you'll be able to make one, I would recommend contacting a local professional that can evaluate your window and help determine the best way to access your hardware.
