Identifying relevant keeper
There are a number of different keepers that go along with the 82-218 you recently ordered with us. However, as I read what you wrote to us, I am wondering if the 82-218 was the correct mortise lock replacement. Is there any way we can have you send us photos of both your original mortise lock and keeper? We'd like to take a look and see how we can resolve this for you.
My mortise lock fell into the slide door, thats why i m looking to order new. Please see attached photo of my existing keeper.
thanks
This doesn't look like a keeper, this looks like the piece of the frame to which your old mortise installed. The keeper is just what the mortise latches to on the opposite side of the frame, it's not what the mortise screws into. I think that may be why we were confused.
Now that I understand what you're looking for, I can tell you that we don't sell this frame piece. However I don't think you need a new one. The 82-218 should fit in that hole I see in your first photo. That's a pretty standard hole setup for our part. Keep in mind that the hole is made to be a little small. You have to but the 82-218 in at an angle and pop it in. I recommend watching the video below for clarification.
Ultimately, there is no smaller version of the 82-218, nor are you able to replace the frame piece that it connects to. I'm confident the 82-218 can work for you, you just have to approach the installation differently.
