Impact windows in a south florida condo

Hello:

I'm trying to repair some impact windows, installed maybe 7 years ago in a beachfront condominium in South Florida. I do not know the Brand, installer is now defunct. Single hung window no longer stays up, reason appears to be detachment of the spiral spring due to corrosion.

This is the first of four different window sizes in this unit, all with the same problem. I'm moderately handy, watched your video, managed to get one spring out, if I can repair this one, then hoping to do them all!

The spring I removed has a green tip. The white casing is 31 inches long x .5 inches wide. Casing is slightly bent, but I don't think I did it while removing, wondering if the installers did it to install into a tight spot?

I would need four (4) for this pair of windows. Your feedback and suggestions would be most appreciated

Thanks for reaching out to us, Ronald. Looking at your windows, they appear to be non-tilt. Can you verify?

If so, then the most important detail here, the bottom tip of the spiral, has corroded away. I'm afraid I can't verify a good replacement without seeing that. Do you have one that's still in workable condition, or was this the best condition you could find?

One possibility is our Series 500 spiral balance, which is commonly used on non-tilt windows like this. However there's still a question of how it attaches to the sash. These require a bottom bracket that clip directly to the bottom corners. Many styles we used to sell are discontinued, though, and if your clips are damaged in any way then it may be very difficult to get a hold of, if not impossible.
