Inside door handle

Question

This is a PPG Herculite K door, dating back to 2002.  The inside handle opens the door 2 ways either by rotating the handle or pushing in on the handle.  The mechanism that returns the handle back to closed when pushing in has failed.  The only thing that holds the door closed are the gas struts. If there was an internal spring, it has been lost.
