Installation Clip on part 21-044

Have a questions about the installation clip on part 21-044. Does that clip fit between the spring and the bottom of the metal frame or does it sit on top of the pivot pin? If it clips on top of the pin, should it be flush with the metal frame or above it. Trying to figure out exactly what that clip does.

Personally, I install the 21-044 spring guide pin by dropping the pin and spring through the door and place the 21-157 compression clip on the other end to prevent the pin from jumping out of the door. I just bring the 21-157 up just to give the pin some movement by going up and down so the pin can ride on the track without jumping off. Try this method and let us know how it worked for you.

Installed the new hardware and clip on all four corners of the door. Had to sand a few small burrs off the track and the door closes fine. Thank you.
