align strip along Bottom of door and push it straight

Yes, the 58-189 installs by pushing the kerfs into the appropriate slots in the bottom of your door. Make sure that the spacing of your slots is the same as the spacing of the kerfs, though. In the case of the 58-189, the kerfs are 7/8" apart.
