Installing Series 775 Window Sash

I have ordered and anticipate receiving the parts from SWISCO to replace my worn Series 775 window sash support channel balances. My question is with regards to the aluminum channel - should it be lubricated or pre-treated. It looks clean and smooth. The windows are only 4-5 years old. Do I need to do anything special to extend the life of the new channel balances? Thanks.

Before you install the balance, apply a small amount of lubricated oil-based spray on the channel portion, and a little more on the exposed spring.
