Hi,
I'm wondering if you can help identify this tilt latch. It slides into a groove in the top of the window and then the thumb slider snaps into place from above.
To the best of my knowledge the windows were manufactured around 1990. They are double paned with aluminum frames.
Thanks!

Hello,
Unfortunately, we do not carry an exact match for your internal latch. Your best bet may be substituting it with a surface mounted tilt latch that screws directly to the sash frame. See the tutorial below that shows how we do this. We find it to be a good solution for sashes like yours. Take a look and see what you think.

Hi -- thanks for the quick reply.
It looks like this could be a good match for the color of our windows. https://www.swisco.com/Top-Tilt-Latch-Neutral/pd/Surface-Mounted-Latches-For-Tilt-Windows/26-188
Do you have a recommendation for what size / type of fastener to use?
Thanks!

The 26-188 accepts a #8 screw. The length would depend on the thickness of your sash frame. You would just have to make sure that the screw that you use will engage with the new installation holes but are not long enough to hit the glass in your sash.
