Hello,
I have 30 white casement windows using the folding crank handle (39-205) and 6 brass folding crank handles (just like 39-205 but brass). These handles have several components. I want to replace a single component in numerous handles.
My description of the components may not be the term you use.
- Fancy exterior: The brass or white exterior of the handle with knob.
- Plastic Adapter: A hard plastic spindle adapter that attaches with a set screw to the spindle.
- Punch Pin: A metal pin that holds the plastic adapter in place within the Fancy Exterior of the handle.
- Metal bracket: A small metal bracket that supports the plastic spindle adapter in place a each of the fold positions (Out & Down).
- And lastly, a set screw that goes through the Plastic Adapter.
Over time (year 3 - year 12) many (over 20) of these plastic adapters have cracked which allows them to slip if there is minimal resistance. In some cases where the color was the same I have switched handles from a location where the window is infrequently opened to more active windows in need or repair. Sometimes when the color is different I have simply exchanged the plastic adapter portion.
I have two questions.
- Can I purchase 25-50 of these plastic adapters?
- Is there a more durable (possibly metal) piece that can replace the plastic adapter? (again 25-50 count).
If needed, I can send pictures, I thought I would not need to send pictures since you probably know the 39-205 quite well. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Regards John
