Is coil balance installation different for right and left?

Does it matter what side the coil strips are facing when installing the coil balance and balance shoe? I mean if one set up is going on the right side of the window, should the strips of coil face the left or the right! Thanks!

Some window manufacturers use a right-facing placement of the coil springs, other manufacturers face left. The rule of thumb I used is to replace one side at a time, matching the placement of each coil spring. They face to either the outside or the inside of the window.
