Is my Channel Balance Too Long?

A handy person from Raleigh Durham, NC says:
The measurement was 29 1/8 inches. I beleve it is a 2830 series 385 but not quite sure. It appears 29 inches is the length you sell but I measured several times and got 29 1/8 inches.

Thanks for posting. Are you just measuring the metal channel, not including the end attachments? Let us know and we'll go from there. Thanks.

A handy person from Raleigh Durham, NC says:
Yes, just the metal post.

Thanks for getting back to us! I think it'll be fine if you go with 29". I've never seen a manufacturer use 29-1/8" before. It's possible whoever made yours originally gave the channel a bit of extra length, but I can't be sure. Either way, a 29" option is the best alternative we can offer.

A handy person from Raleigh Durham, NC says:
I ordered the 29" already. Thanks.

Many thanks for the photos. Your top sash guide is very similar to our 18-142. Compare and see what you think. Please note that the 18-142 has two mounting holes in comparison to your one.

A handy person from Raleigh Durham, NC says:
I agree the 18-142 is very similar. I will have to drill two holes close to the existing hole in the window. Do you think this drilling will weaken the structure?

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Morning,

Drilling a new hole shouldn't the top sash to weaken.

A handy person from Raleigh Durham, NC says:
Thanks,

I order several of the 18-142s.
