Is the 26-405 suitable for aluminum windows

Is the Rounded Head Pivot Bar (26-405) suitable for aluminium windows or only for vinyl windows?

I have some aluminium windows using this pin and sometimes the pins break.

Is the aluminium window too heavy for this pin. It seems to be OK on the smaller windows.

Thanks for posting! If your pivot bars are breaking, then there's something else at work. These can work on a multitude of windows regardless of sash weight. Even if the windows were extra heavy, that weight would be counter-acted by the balances. No undue strain would be put on the pivot bars assuming everything was functioning normally. Does that make sense?

I would look over your balances to see if maybe they might need replacing. If your windows are particularly hard to open or close then that's usually a sign.
