Is this item easily reversible? I bought one at home depot that I cannot open to reverse...the Phillips head screw is in there so tight I can not budge it! Tried several applications of WD40 to no avail! Please let me know!

The maker of this handle set do state that the 42-009 is reversible for both left or right handed doors. As for your screw situation, I would spray with the lubricant and let it sit for a few days. Maybe then the lubricant will have time to loosen up the threads.
