Is the 82-082 compatible with a key lock?

can the 82-082 be used with a keyed lock just by knocking out center of outer handle ? I have a non-keyed doorwall handle I want to have a key lock installed so I can lock and unlock this doorwall from outside. clamp style, 4 15/16 spacing

I believe you can use the 82-310 Key Lock by punching out that hole in the outside pull, just as you're describing. Another option however would be to replace the entire outside pull with the keyed 82-306.
